The hearing will take place as follows:

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • History–Social Science
  • English/Language Arts (including English Language Development)
  • World Languages
  • Visual and Performing Arts
Parents, teachers, and members of the community are encouraged to participate.

Monday Office Hours are gaining momentum!

For many years it was a struggle for students to find time to meet with their teachers for extra help or to complete assignments. Last year we implemented a short day on Monday afternoons to provide time for students to connect with their teacher and/or another teacher in that department. Students are increasingly taking advantage of this time, and the results show! Please remember to use this valuable time and resource if you need help.

Free One-on-One Tutoring, Anytime You're Stuck

Did you know every Credo student has free access to live, one-on-one homework help through Tutor.com, courtesy of the Sonoma County Library? One of our teachers recently tried it with her son for Algebra 2 help, and they came away impressed.

How to log in: You can't sign in directly at tutor.com. Instead, go to www.sonomalibrary.org/student-onecard and click on "FREE online one-on-one homework tutoring." On the login page that opens, enter your Credo student ID (CREDOXXXX) as the username and your birthday (MM/DD) as the PIN.

What to expect: Students can get help right away or schedule a session for later. After describing what they need, they choose a language (English or Spanish) and whether to use text chat only or voice too. The session opens with a shared whiteboard and a chat window, and the tutor can see the student's work and guide them step by step. (There's even confetti when you get a step right!) A tip from our teacher: writing on the whiteboard is easier with a mouse than a trackpad, and you can scroll down if you run out of space.

Her son picked it up quickly, found the tutor kind and encouraging, and said he'd definitely use it again the next time he's stuck and a parent isn't around. Students can even request the same tutor for future sessions. The site also offers job search help and mock interviews, and parents are welcome to use it too, whether to brush up on material so they can help at home or to get support in Spanish.

Check it out!

Guest Speakers in 11th Grade American Government

Students in American Government began the semester by learning how federalism divides power among local, state, and federal governments. Students extended their learning by inviting elected officials and civil servants to Credo as guest speakers. So far, Phil Carter and Stephen Zollman, both Sebastopol councilmembers, have visited 1st Period. Rebecca Sotelo and Chief Mattos from the Rohnert Park Department of Safety were featured speakers in 2nd Period. In the weeks ahead, we will welcome Councilmember Carolin Banuelos from Santa Rosa, Councilmember and State Assembly candidate Jackie Elward, and Sonoma County Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Amie Carter-Mia. All the speakers have expressed gratitude for being invited by students and have been very complimentary of our school community.

Planning for the Long Weekend

The five day weekend is less than two weeks away, and if you're making plans, we'd love your help! We know the temptation to add an extra day can be strong, especially when booking travel. Before you finalize anything, please keep in mind that for each day a student is absent, whether excused or unexcused, Credo loses about $100 in state funding for that student. Those dollars support the programs, staff, and experiences that make our school what it is. Thank you for planning around the scheduled days off. We hope you have a restful break!

Coming soon: Attendance Recovery program

California is now letting students made up missed days of school through a program called Attendance Recovery. This is intended to help students regain ground in the instructional time that was lost during an absence, strengthen connections to their teachers and school community, and help schools recover funding that is lost when a student is absent.

Attendance Recovery is held outside of regular school hours, and 4 hours of Attendance Recovery time is required to equal one day of missed school attendance.

Credo plans to launch our new Attendance Recovery program in October. We'll be sharing more details soon.

Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications due NOW

Please complete your student's Free and Reduced Price Meal Application and turn it in to the Front Desk by Monday.

By completing this application, your student could qualify for bus passes, AP testing fee reduction, college application fee waivers, and more! Your participation in this survey also allows us to maximize our funding potential.

We understand that these forms feel intrusive in the level of details that they are asking you to provide. Credo would not ask you to fill them out if there was an alternative. Please rest assured that Free and Reduced  Price Meal applications are confidential and per state law are held to higher privacy standards than any other student data.

Please complete yours today. You can make a copy of these blank forms and fill them in electronically:

Credo Foundation

Schools Rule!

Credo is grateful to have received just under $2,000 from SchoolsRule Sonoma County, a foundation that supports public schools across our county. At its third annual Distribution Event, SchoolsRule awarded more than $242,000 to local schools, with each school's share based on its enrollment and the total donations the Foundation received this year.

These funds will go toward our goal of raising $475,000 this year to sustain the programs that make Credo special.

A big thank you to SchoolsRule and the generous community sponsors who make this support possible!
