About Credo
Public Waldorf Education
Credo offers a liberal arts education rarely found in a public high school. Guided by the Core Principles articulated by the Alliance for Public Waldorf Education, our curriculum follows the arc of adolescent development. Literature, history, mathematics, and the sciences are studied alongside world languages, music, and the visual and practical arts as connected ways of understanding the world. We aim to graduate young people with depth of thought, the initiative to act, and a sense of responsibility for their communities and the world.
College Preparation
At Credo, every student is on the college-prep track; there is no separate "general" path. Our graduation requirements go beyond what the University of California asks, including four years of science, three years of history, and three years of a world language. Every student also completes 100 hours of community service. Credo gives no D grades, so every passing grade counts toward college eligibility. In 2025, 95% of Credo graduates qualified for admission to the University of California.
Independent Charter
Credo is a tuition-free public charter school authorized by the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District. As an independent charter, we are governed by our own Board of Directors, which gives us the freedom to offer a distinctive program while meeting the same accountability standards as every California public school. No interdistrict transfer is needed to attend, and our students come from across Sonoma, Marin, Napa, and San Francisco counties.
Accredited by WASC
Credo is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Accreditation confirms that our program meets rigorous standards for quality and ongoing improvement, and that colleges and universities recognize Credo transcripts.
California Distinguished School
Credo has twice been named a California Distinguished School by the California Department of Education, in 2021 and again in 2026. Middle and high schools are eligible for the award every two years, and winners are selected based on student performance data from the California School Dashboard. In 2026, Credo was one of 408 schools statewide, and one of just three middle and high schools in Sonoma County, to earn this honor.
